September 6 – Experience California Suite, a four-part comedy confection by the great comic playwright, Neil Simon, presented by University Theatre at Bush Theatre on CMU’s Campus; Second show September 8 at 2 p.m. Looking for a weekend getaway? Get ready for camping, live music, art vendors and more at Sacred Vibrations Music & Arts Festival in Shepherd, Michigan. Sacred Vibrations is today through Sunday, September 8.

September 7 – It’s all about the performing arts today in Mt. Pleasant! See Fox on the Fairway, presented by University Theatre, at Bush Theatre (tickets available through Ticket Central). For some adult fun, witness a devilish mix of burlesque, comedy and modern Vaudeville at Rubble’s Bar in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.

September 8 – It’s Superhero Sunday at The Jump Station! Suit up in your superhero outfits and help save the city from mischievous villains! Later, enjoy the final outdoor concert at Soaring Eagle Casino, featuring Florida Georgia Line with special guests Chris Lane and Canaan Smith.

September 9 – Get ready for an evening of music, painting and more at the NEW Island Park Arts Pavilion featuring a performance by Empty Canvas.

September 10 – Runners, joggers and walkers, this one’s for you! Enjoy a twilight run at the annual Rotary Run/Walk & Fun Run through Downtown Mt. Pleasant’s park system.

September 11 –  Check out Founders Film Series™ showing of Misery paired with a hand-picked Founders beer for only $2 at Celebration! Cinema Mt. Pleasant.

September 12 – Roz’s Diner welcomes back artist, Rebecca Hamilton, to share unique techniques and beautiful skills at GUEST ARTIST: Tea & Art; enjoy delicious treats and tea while creating.

September 13 – Light up the park at the Glow in the Park 5k in Mt. Pleasant. Before the event, check out Diggin’ for Glow Dough with My 104.3 at Island Park! Later, get ready for a Murder Mystery event at Soaring Eagle Casino and LIVE music at Rubble’s Bar.

September 14 – Hot rods? Check! Airplanes? Check! Food trucks, coffee and doughnuts? Check, check, check! Get ready for a fun day at Wings & Wheels hosted at the Mt. Pleasant Municipal Airport. It’s also Kid’s & Culture day at Ziibiwing Cultural Center, which is a free event full of learning, culture and fun! Later, cheer on the Chippewas as they take on Akron at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

September 15 – It’s a par-fect day for friendly competition! Grab some pals for disc golf at Deerfield Nature Park courses or CMU Campus Course.

September 16 – Monday’s are best spent eating great food… We suggest grabbing breakfast or lunch at Roz’s Diner, voted one of Michigan’s best diners by MLive’s Michigan’s Best, in Rosebush.


September 17 – Experiment, explore and discover at the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum in a sensory-friendly environment at Sensory Night!

September 18 – Bring the kids to Art Reach of Mid Michigan for the monthly Mini Masters; a fun art class for kids ages 6 and up. For the adults, check out Founders Film Series™ showing of Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure paired with a hand-picked Founders beer for only $2 at Celebration! Cinema Mt. Pleasant.

September 19 – Get into the fall spirit with a paint and pour session with Mama Bair Art at the Painted Turtle in Downtown Mt. Pleasant. 

September 20 – Come out to the Isabella County Fairgrounds to walk for a cause at the annual Into the Light Cancer Awareness Walk.

September 21 – Help raise money and awareness to fight HIV and AIDS at the 10th annual Central Michigan HIV/AIDS 5k Rainbow Walk/Run at Island Park. Looking for entertainment? Bourbon, bacon and live music – need we say more? Check out Soaring Eagle Casino’s Bourbon & Bacon event, featuring performances by Blue Oyster Cult and Survivor. 

September 22 – Tomorrow it will officially be fall – let’s celebrate the last day of summer with a trip to Island Park’s Splash Park! Weather permitting…

September 23 – Happy first day of fall! Celebrate by exploring the great, Isabella County, outdoors! Or get creative at “Fall is Near… Paint Night!” with Mama Bair Art at Roz’s Diner in Rosebush!

September 27 – Happy World Tourism Day! Act like a tourist in your own town by exploring parks, dining out, trying a new local hot spot. Get ready for Oktoberfest 2019 at Summit Smokehouse and Tap Room; a two-day event (Sept, 27 & 28) featuring live music, dart tournaments, games, 18+ beers on tap and more! 

September 28 – Three cheers for Saturday and FOUR great events! 1) Zonta Applefest, an autumn-inspired celebration with fruit-filled games, crafts, cider, doughnuts, dumplings and more at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch. 2) Enjoy live music, local artists at work, and much more at the 12th annual Art From Our Park at Deerfield Nature Park. 3) Get ready for FOOD! September 30 – Indulge in delicious food, brews and wine at Camille’s Prime in Downtown Mt. Pleasant; featuring a warm and cozy atmosphere, perfect for a night out with someone special.

October 1 – Purchase local produce, baked goods, crafts and more at the Native Farmer’s Market at the corner of Broadway & Leaton Road. Last market is October 22.

October 2 – The MPACVB is also kicking off its annual Feels Like Fall photo contest! October 3 – Performing arts, concerts, paint classes and more – it’s a busy Thursday in Isabella County! It is opening night of Miss Julie, a provocative and riveting tale of unexpected love, performed by University Theatre at Theatre-on-the-Side. Enjoy an evening of jazz music at the Faculty Jazz Ensemble at the Staples Family Concert Hall on CMU’s campus. Grab a friend and your favorite drink for a Paint & Pour class at Painted Turtle in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.  Stop by the Veterans Memorial Library Annex for the annual Friends of the Library annual Book Sale today through October 5.

October 4 – There are plenty of things to celebrate today! Celebrate Mt. Pleasant High School’s homecoming with the parade in Downtown Mt. Pleasant. After the game, check out opening night of Lizzie Borden of Fall River at the Broadway Theatre (October 4-6, 11-13). Join H.A.T.S. for Ales for Tails, a craft beer tasting event to celebrate the organization’s 20th anniversary. Hungry? Celebrate #NationalTacoDay at a local favorite, Los Palominos or Los Amigos

October 5 – We’ve got something for everyone today! Get in on the action at Kelly/Shorts Stadium as the Chippewas take on Eastern Michigan University. Move and groove at Soaring Eagle Casino’s concert TOTO! For family fun, head to Double D Farms for Family Fun Day! Get in the Halloween spirit at Trunk or Treat and Food Truck Rally at the Isabella Fairgrounds.

October 6 – Cheer on CMU Women’s soccer as the team competes against Northern Illinois. 

October 7 – Head to the taproom at Summit Smokehouse for Mountain Town Brewing Company’s latest brew creations.

October 8 – Ready… set… let’s kick it! Riverwood/Nine Eight Nine offers a dynamic combo of your favorite sports! Soccer + golf = Footgolf!


October 9 – Mama said there’s another Founders Film Series show; tonight’s flick is Forrest Gump! Enjoy this classic film, paired with delicious Founders beer at Celebration! Cinema Mt. Pleasant. 

October 10 – Grab a friend and join Mama Bair Art for paint night with the kitties at Karma Kat Cafe.

October 12 – It’s CMU Homecoming! In the morning, run to raise money for Special Olympics Michigan athletes at the CMU Homecoming 5k Walk/Run. After, enjoy the homecoming parade, pre-game Tailgate Village performance, and then cheer on the Chippewas at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Non-homecoming events include: FREE Kids & Culture event at RedBloom Yoga Studio in Downtown Mt. Pleasant, Mid Market craft and vendor fair at Mid Michigan College and Jack Skelington Paint Night with Mama Bair Art at Roz’s Diner in Rosebush. October 17 – The PowerDiva Final Tour is here and ready for you at the Broadway Theatre in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.

October 18 – Hike Mt. Pleasant’s elusive mountain, and tallest point in Isabella County, Bundy Hill at the Bundy Hill Preserve


October 19 – Soaring Eagle Casino is kicking off the 3rd annual Fantasticon: The Ultimate Comic Book & Pop Culture Experience. Get creative at All the Drama Llama Paint Night with Mama Bair Art at Roz’s Diner in Rosebush.

October 24 – It’s a jump to the left! And then a step to the riiiight! Get ready for a performance of Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Broadway Theatre (October 24-26).

October 25 – It’s night two of Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Broadway Theatre (October 24-26) – don’t miss this annual performance!

October 26 – Celebrate #NationalPumpkinDay the right way; Head to Papa’s Pumpkin Patch for cider, doughnuts, pumpkins and more! After, head to Boo Bash, an annual indoor trick or treating event at Morey Courts Recreation Center. Join Sister Marie Kopin of the North American Mycological Association for search for wild fungi at Bundy Hill Preserve.


October 27 – In the days leading up to Halloween, head to the Village of Shepherd for the 1,500 carved pumpkins on display.

October 28 – Pizza – it’s a way of life. Treat yourself to a slice (or three) from your favorite local pizzeria; here’s a guide to local pizza in Isabella County.

October 29 – Enjoy a Symphonic Wind Ensemble, a free concert open to the public at CMU’s School of Music.

October 30 – Create your own masterpiece with friends at Art Reach of Mid Michigan’s October Brews & Brushes. What’s your favorite scary movie?… Get ready for thrills and chills at Founders Film Series™ showing of Scream paired with handcrafted Founders beer at Celebration! Cinema in Mt. Pleasant. 

October 31 – Happy Halloween! Shop local produce, baked goods and more at the FINAL Farmers’ Market of the year at Island Park! Later, bring the kids downtown from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., for trick-or-treating at local businesses during Pumpkin Promenade.

November 1 – Friday nights are date night – treat yourself, friends and/or that special someone to dinner at Brass Cafe in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.


November 2 – Hear the roar of the crowd at Chippewas vs. Northern Illinois at Kelly/Shorts Stadium or the roar of a Lion at the Lion’s Club annual Chili Dinner

November 3 – Celebrate #NationalSandwichDay with lunch and dinner at a local sandwich joint: Max & Emily’s Eatery, Mitchell’s Gourmet Deli, Ponder Coffee Company, Brass Cafe, Mountain Town Station and Summit Smokehouse. 

November 4 – Jump, jump, jump around at The Jump Station

November 5 – Experience Guest Artists: Westhuizen Piano Duo at CMU’s Staples Family Concert Hall.

November 6 – Network and learn more about local businesses at the Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Community Expo at the Comfort Inn and Suites Hotel Conference Center. After, head to the final Founders Film Series™ show, Die Hard, paired with Founders beer at Celebration! Cinema in Mt. Pleasant.

November 7 – Thursday night is Pint Night at Mountain Town Station! Grab your friends for $2 pints all night in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.

November 8 – Experience Ragtime (Musical), a sweeping musical portrait of early-twentieth-century America, presented by University Theatre at Bush Theatre on CMU’s campus (November 6-10). 

November 9 – Explore the area’s museums and galleries.

November 11 – Today, we honor those who have served in observance of Veterans Day. Today, the Ziibiwing Cultural Center is offering free admission to veterans and families.

November 12 – Visit the Museum of Cultural & Natural History to experience its two newest exhibits; Kozmic Clash: Peace, Love and Outer Space and Feel the Music, hands-on gallery.

November 13 – It’s #WorldKindnessDay! Practice gratitude with a yoga class at Yoga on Main and RedBloom Yoga in Downtown Mt. Pleasant. 

November 14 – Enjoy classic burgers, pizza and coney dogs from PIXIE; serving Mt. Pleasant since 1948, decorated in 1950’s memorabilia.

December 6 – Visit downtown for the kick off of the Mt. Pleasant Christmas Celebration. See the tree lighting, community caroling and maybe even Santa and his reindeer. Was yesterday plain awful? Well, that’s not now, that’s then! Get ready for Annie Jr. at the Broadway Theatre in Downtown Mt. Pleasant (December 6, 7 & 8).

December 7 – Mt. Pleasant’s Christmas Celebration continues! Have pancakes with Santa, run the annual Jingle All the Way 5k & 5-Mile, try make and take crafts and enjoy the lighted Christmas parade at 6 p.m.


December 8 – We like Sundays a waffle lot! Enjoy unique waffles, delicious coffee and tea blends at Ponder Coffee Company’s “Waffle Sunday” at both the Downtown and Central locations.

December 9 – Head to The Cabin for drink specials, deals on pizza and trivia, starting at 10 p.m.!
