Self-Evident: New Paintings by Taurus Burns

Join us in the Baber Room Gallery for Self-Evident:
New Paintings by Taurus Burns. Taurus Burns’s paintings are powerful
introspections on race, identity, and society. Self-evident presents a
series of black and white paintings which explore conversations around racism
and gun violence in America, and in particular, the artist’s identity as a biracial human in an often-polarized black and white world.
Taurus has widely exhibited his work in galleries and museums in the Detroit
region, nationally, and internationally, in places such as Brooklyn, Chicago,
and London.

Artist Talk on Thursday, Sept. 29 at
7pm in the Sarah and Daniel Opperman Auditorium, located within Park
Library.

 A reception will immediately follow in the Baber Room Gallery. Open to
the public.
