Master miles and miles of winding waters via tube, kayak, canoe or paddle board in Isabella County. The fresh water Chippewa River is perfect for a leisurely trip downstream with friends and family. Float, paddle, or walk; whichever you prefer, it’s up to you! Not only will you experience the tranquility of nature, but you may even spot a bald eagle and other wildlife around the bend.
Tubing
Flowing at low speeds with little to no rapids, makes the Chippewa the perfect place for a float. Trips can range from 30 minutes to a few hours where you will go through a variety of scenery from wooded areas to neighborhood parks!
Canoe / Kayak / Paddle
Pick up the pace (or not) with a trip down the Chipp’ via canoe, kayak, or paddleboard. Canoe and kayak groups range from two people to large parties, with two canoe/kayak liveries there’s enough fun for everyone!
Fishing
Just a step off the Chippewa River to find yourself in one of the three beautiful County Parks, Deerfield Nature Park, Meridian Park, or Majeske Landing. These parks offer opportunities like casting a line out over the water. Choose to stay out of the water, and enjoy the GKB Riverwalk Trail perfect for walking or biking along side the Chippewa.
