Museum of Cultural and Natural History
Welcome to the Museum of Cultural and Natural History (CMU Museum) at Central Michigan University! The museum supports research and teaching in cultural and natural history and is a laboratory for Museum Studies students. We are located within Rowe Hall on the campus of Central Michigan University. Our exhibit spaces are free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm and are located on the ground floor of Rowe Hall with our main gallery space being Rowe 124 and our children’s hands-on gallery being Rowe 101A. We are closed on weekends, holidays and during the university winter break.
The museum hosts several public programs and events throughout the year and welcomes field trip visits from local K-12 groups and/or homeschool groups. We also run the Bohannon One-Room Schoolhouse, which is located on the corner of W. Campus Dr. & Preston St. Visits to the schoolhouse are appointment only but still free to the public! Visit our website to learn more: Field Trips or Family Visits
