CM Life Newspaper
Central Michigan Life is Central Michigan University’s student-operated campus newspaper. It is almost entirely independent from the university. Only the salaries of the adviser and executive secretary are paid through CMU; all other expenses are covered by CM Life’s own advertising revenue.
The paper is published and distributed three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) during the spring and fall semesters. The editorial staff produces the paper the day before it is published (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday). During the summer, the paper is published every Wednesday with a production day on the preceding Tuesday.
Staff stories and photographs are turned in at 10 a.m. each production day and the deadline for finishing the newspaper’s pages is midnight.
CM Life’s circulation is currently 13,500, and the paper is distributed by Mid-Michigan Industries at various newsstands in CMU’s academic buildings and residence halls, as well as several businesses within the Mount Pleasant community.
The paper can also be found online at its Web site, cm-life.com, where the content is updated seven days per week and when breaking news happens.
