Central Michigan University Athletics

CMU competes in 16 NCAA Division I sports with student-athletes that are accomplished in the classroom and on the field. The CMU Chippewas are annual contenders for the Mid-American Conference Institutional Academic Achievement Award for the highest GPA, winning 10 times in the last 15 years. Since the 1999-2000 season, the CMU Chippewas have won more than 40 MAC titles in 14 different sports and played in four consecutive football bowl games. CMU won the MAC’s inaugural Cartwright Award for overall program excellence in 2009. CMU athletics annually offers more than 40 individual and team summer sports camps for children in kindergarten through high school, and many of these camps are recognized among the best in Michigan.
