NativeFest at Ziibiwing Cultural Center July 2020
The Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture & Lifeways presents a celebration of North American Indian Culture with Indian Car Bingo and Music & Comedy Night.
There will also be a special Collection Showing of Artistic Expressions of the Saginaw Chippewa from Ziibiwing’s Permanent Collection on display.
Indian Car Bingo began on the Isabella Indian Reservation in the 1960’s. It was a way to remind the community of its humble beginnings in the gaming industry. Indian Car Bingo was started by the Tomah Club as a fundraising effort and is now a successful and unique community event.
The only difference here is that instead of calling “Bingo!” you honk your car horn and the prize is brought right over to you! Fun-loving participants have been known to replace the car for a patio set on a truck bed, a golf cart, a boat on a trailer or even a couch!
Bring your own food or take advantage of the local vendors who often have hot dogs, popcorn etc. available. The cost is $20 per Bingo player. The prizes are fabulous and include a Grand Prize of $1,200 in Gift Cards!
Music & Comedy Night is a free evening of family fun. This year starts off with a Cruise-in Car Show and continues with all sorts of entertainment for both kids and adults, including contests with prizes and a live on stage musical presentation! It’s open to the public.
