As Dan Pohl and other rising stars put Mt. Pleasant on the map, golf architect Jerry Matthews took the baton from his father, Bruce, and made Central Michigan a focus of the family design business. Over the next two decades, Matthews built Eagle Glen, Snow Snake, St. Ives, The Emerald and Bucks Run. At the same time, Pohl parlayed his success on the PGA Tour into development of his own hometown masterpiece, PohlCat. The impressive growth also led to the creation of Tullymore, which Golf Digest lists among “America’s 100 Greatest Courses.”
