April brings a fresh burst of energy to Mt. Pleasant, with a full calendar of events that celebrate the arrival of spring. From Little League opening day to the beloved Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival packed with family friendly fun, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Egg Hunt & Activities
Saturday, April. 4 at 10 a.m. at Central Michigan Free Methodist Church
This Mt. Pleasant community Easter event begins with registration from 10 to 10:45 a.m., followed by a sensory-friendly egg hunt at 10:30 a.m. and the main hunt at 11:00 a.m. Children will be divided into two age groups (0–4 and 5–12), each with chances to win prizes, including a grand prize egg. Families are encouraged to check their eggs before leaving to claim any winnings. Check out the event’s Facebook page for more information.
Inspired by Nature: Artist-In-Residence
Wednesday, April 8 at 7 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Library in Mt. Pleasant
Join Cheryl Meyer, president of the Chippewa Valley Audubon Club, who will present “Inspired by Nature: Artist-In-Residence” introducing the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy (CWC) Summer 2025b Artist in Residence. Meyer will discuss the role of the artist in residence for not only the CWC but also parks and wildlife groups throughout the nation.

Spring Fling Drag Show
Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m. at the Broadway Theatre in Downtown Mt. Pleasant
The Broadway Theatre and Veronica Scott present Spring Fling Drag Show on April 10 in Mt. Pleasant. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with tickets available for $15. The show is open for all ages.

Annual Mom2Mom Sale at Mt. Pleasant Middle School
Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Middle School
The Mt. Pleasant Instrumental Music Boosters (IMB) will host their Annual Mom2Mom Sale and Craft Show at Mt. Pleasant Middle School, featuring over 100 spaces filled with mom sellers, vendors, and crafters. Shoppers can browse a wide variety of items while enjoying available concessions, with strollers welcome. Admission is $2 at the door, or $5 for early bird entry at 9 a.m., with proceeds supporting Mt. Pleasant Public Schools Band Programs and Marching Band.

Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival
April 23 – 26, 2026 at various locations in Shepherd
The annual Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival will be held from April 23 through 26 with events running throughout each day. The community is welcome to enjoy pancake and sausage breakfast (through dinner), an arts and crafts show, parade, carnival, and many more activities. Mt. Pleasant Little League Opening Weekend
Friday, April 24 at 5 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Pickens Field with games through Saturday evening
Baseball season is here, and so is another season with Mt. Pleasant Little League. The league kicks off Opening Weekend Friday evening with a parade starting at Town Center and heading to Pickens Field. Players will be wearing team colors, and the community is invited to cheer on the teams as they head into their season. Games will follow the parade on Friday and pick back up at 1 pm on Saturday through the evening. If you are interested in coaching or umpiring opportunities, visit Mt. Sleepy Dog Books Story Time with Furry Friends
Saturday, April 25 at 10 a.m. at Humane Animal Treatment Society (1105 S. Isabella Road in Mt. Pleasant)
Join Sleepy Dog Books for a story time with furry friends. Hosted by Humane Animal Treatment Society, participants can enjoy a morning reading with dogs and cats. For more information, follow the event’s Facebook page.

Annual Crow Party at For Arts Sake
Sunday, April 26 from 12 – 3 p.m. at For Art’s Sake
For Arts Sake is hosting their annual Crow Party in downtown Mt. Pleasant April 26. A crow party is a trinket swap event, where everyone dresses like crows or wears black, trading items like stickers, toys, handmade art, jewelry, cards, crystals, and zines (no weapons, fragile glass, furniture, or food). Guests can also participate in the costume contest with prizes for one child and one adult at 2:30 p.m. Remember to trade politely, only trade (no selling), and have adults accompany young children throughout the event.
