Event Details

Aquatic insects are an essential part of a balanced water ecosystem. The ones that are present can tell you a great deal about pond life and how healthy or unhealthy it is. At this Kids & Culture event, children will have the opportunity to scoop water from our local Chipp-A-Waters Park pond and identify the aquatic insects living there. An insect identification craft and a snack activity will also be provided. To reach the activity, please follow the trail from the main parking lot to the first pond. Attendees could win a book, May the Mayfly or The Song of the Water Boatman & Other Ponds Poems, and two day passes to the Soaring Eagle Waterpark.

Event in partnership with Chippewa River District Library and Chippewa Watershed Conservancy.
