Kids & Culture

The Chippewa River District Library will host Kids and
Culture at 10 am on Saturday, September 14 at Veterans Memorial Library, 301 S.
University Ave. in Mt. Pleasant.

Participants will celebrate Smokey Bear’s 80th Birthday!
Activities include:

· Meet and greet Smokey Bear* and wish him a “Happy
Birthday!”

· Enjoy birthday cake

· Sing-a-long campfire songs with Ms. Christie

· Sign up for Smokey Bear’s Reading Challenge

· Learn about campfire and wildfire safety from the Michigan
Department of Natural Resources and USDA Forest Service

· Touch a firetruck with the City of Mt. Pleasant Fire
Department

· Learn about local nature preserves with the Chippewa
Watershed Conservancy

*Smokey Bear is excited to meet everyone; however, September
is wildfire season, and he may be called away to help fight wildfires.

Attendees at each Kids & Culture 2024 event will be
entered into a monthly drawing for (4) day passes to the Soaring Eagle
Waterpark in Mt. Pleasant.
