Event Details

Give your furry-friend the best form of permanent identification! Thanks to the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation, we will be offering FREE MICROCHIPS for cats & dogs on Tuesday, Feb 21 from 5-7pm at Soldan’s Pet Supplies in Mt. Pleasant.

MICROCHIP FAQs:
How and where are microchips placed?
Microchips are implanted just under the skin, right between the shoulder blades. This is done quickly with a needle and doesn’t require anesthesia.

How does it work?
Each microchip contains a registration number. A handheld scanner reads the radio frequency of the chip and displays this information. An animal shelter or vet clinic that finds your pet can contact the registry to get your name and phone number. Microchips are NOT tracking devices.

How is it registered?
HATS will register your microchip with the contact information you provide. Future updates can be made by calling the microchip company: 24Petwatch.

Microchips will be provided at no cost. Donations are appreciated and allow us to continue these programs for pets in our community!

Walk-in, no appointment needed! Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in carriers!
