As if the diverse selection of affordable Golf Central Michigan courses weren’t enough to make your next trip a hit, the Mt. Pleasant area is full of things to do after holing out your last putt. Whether you’re traveling with a group of guys or girls, bringing the whole family or making tee times just for two, you can round-out your experience with lots of activities by day and by night.
For starters, Mt. Pleasant is a college town, home to Central Michigan University. The CMU Chippewas play NCAA Division I sports, so for much of the year there’s always a game going on including baseball, softball, lacrosse, and track and field in the spring when golf season starts. In the fall, after a morning round of golf you can catch college football action on campus at Kelly/Shorts, the biggest stadium in the Mid-American Conference and home to a fired-up tailgating scene.
Now, here’s a look at some of the many other things to do in the Mt. Pleasant area when you’re not soaking up the beauty of nature on one of the 13 Golf Central Michigan championship courses:

Want to see if your luck on the golf course can carry over to the blackjack table? Head to Soaring Eagle Casino, which sports the largest gaming floor in Michigan with more than 70 game tables and over 4,400 slots. The casino also hosts an outdoor summer concert series that brings in big names and huge crowds, while there are comedy shows and other live entertainment indoors the rest of the year.
If you’re a craft beer lover, you’ll enjoy tasting innovative local flavors brewed right on site at Hunter’s Ale House or Summit Smokehouse. And if you can time your trip with Mt. Pleasant’s annual Craft Beer Festival, that’s a nice bonus.
Otherwise, you can hit up the many other bars in the Mt. Pleasant area and knock back a familiar favorite while enjoying live music at Rubbles Bar, playing darts at The Bird Bar & Grill, singing karaoke at The Cabin or watching the game at O’Kelly’s Sports Bar. Attached to O’Kelly’s is Wayside Central, a dance club and pool hall.
If you just can’t get enough golf, Raby’s Golf Central has literally hundreds of courses from all over the world you can play year-round on a Trackman i0 Indoor Golf Simulator. You also can find golf simulators available spring, summer, fall and winter at Riverwood Resort and PohlCat as well as Toptracer technology at The Golf Center that enables you to play virtual rounds on courses across the globe.

Golf Central Michigan Things To Do For Families
Just because your kids might not be big enough to join you on the golf course doesn’t mean they can’t be part of your next golf trip. Take the family to The Golf Center, a comprehensive training facility with driving range and practice green plus an 18-hole miniature golf course with Zeke’s Marvelous Ice Cream!
While you’re playing the big course during the day, the rest of the family can have a blast exploring the TimberTown playscape and spray park at Island Park or speeding down the slides and getting drenched by the dumping buckets at Soaring Eagle Waterpark. Other family-friendly activities in the Mt. Pleasant area include escape rooms, rock climbing and axe throwing. You can play skeeball at Cyber Quest arcade, float the Chippewa River or hit the beach at Coldwater Lake Family Park. You can even find something fun and educational at the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum.
After golf, long summer nights in Central Michigan mean there’s plenty of time for the whole family to explore the Mt. Pleasant area’s two dozen nature preserves and paddle or fish the scenic Chippewa River. You can hoof it up to the top of Bundy Hill, the highest point in Isabella County, or hike to the swinging bridges at Deerfield Nature Park, which is home to a pair of highly-regarded disc golf courses, too.
Plus, there are always family-friendly events and live entertainment happening at Broadway Theater, Art Reach of Mid Michigan and many other places. Check out this Calendar of Events in the Mt. Pleasant area to see what’s coming up!
