Mt. Pleasant Golf Trip: Things To Do Around Town

As if the diverse selection of affordable Golf Central Michigan courses weren’t enough to make your next trip a hit, the Mt. Pleasant area is full of things to do after holing out your last putt. Whether you’re traveling with a group of guys or girls, bringing the whole family or making tee times just for two, you can round-out your experience with lots of activities by day and by night.

For starters, Mt. Pleasant is a college town, home to Central Michigan University. The CMU Chippewas play NCAA Division I sports, so for much of the year there’s always a game going on including baseball, softball, lacrosse, and track and field in the spring when golf season starts. In the fall, after a morning round of golf you can catch college football action on campus at Kelly/Shorts, the biggest stadium in the Mid-American Conference and home to a fired-up tailgating scene.

The casino also hosts an outdoor summer concert series that brings in big names and huge crowds, while there are comedy shows and other live entertainment indoors the rest of the year.

If you’re a craft beer lover, you’ll enjoy tasting innovative local flavors brewed right on site at Hunter’s Ale House or Summit Smokehouse. And if you can time your trip with Mt. Pleasant’s annual Craft Beer Festival, that’s a nice bonus.

Otherwise, you can hit up the many other bars in the Mt. Pleasant area and knock back a familiar favorite while enjoying live music at Rubbles Bar, playing darts at The Bird Bar & Grill, singing karaoke at The Cabin or watching the game at O’Kelly’s Sports Bar.
