Jan. 4 – Cheer on Central Michigan University’s Men’s Basketball as the team takes on Miami (OH) at McGuirk Arena.

Jan. 5 – It’s National Bird Day! Explore the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy’s Audubon Woods Preserve and you may catch a glimpse of wildlife; this 40-acre preserve protects scenic viewscapes along ¼ mile of Chippewa River frontage and has held probable nesting Louisiana Waterthrush for several years and is one of the most reliable places in Isabella County for Acadian Flycatcher.

Jan. 6 – Hit the slopes or take a tube down a snow-covered hill at Snow Snake in Harrison, Michigan.

Jan. 7 – Calling all trivia nerds! Tuesday night is Trivia Night at Hunter’s Ale House! Every Tuesday!

Jan. 8 – Check out Actively Vulnerable by Mike Zureich, the newest exhibition at the Morey Family Gallery inside Art Reach of Mid-Michigan in Downtown Mt. Pleasant. This exhibit will be on display January 6 – 31.

Jan. 9 –  Relaxation and rebalance is important after the holidays. Flow and glow with a yoga session at Yoga on Main (hot), RedBloom or Ombodies in Mt. Pleasant.

Jan. 10 – Everybody’s workin’ for the weekend, right? Enjoy a free, full moon hike with the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy at the Sylvan Solace Preserve OR put on your dancing shoes and head to Rubble’s Bar in Downtown Mt. Pleasant for performances by Funkwagon and Emeritus.

Jan. 11 – The Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum will kick off the  Kids & Culture series; a free, monthly, kid-friendly event for the family to enjoy. After, cheer on the CMU’s Women’s Basketball team as it takes on Miami (OH) at McGuirk Arena.

Jan. 12 – Enjoy a CFX featured Sunday movie at Celebration! Cinema Mt. Pleasant for only $5.95.

Jan. 13 – Celebrate the start of the week with a trip to one of Mt. Pleasant’s microbreweries!

Jan. 14 – Tuesday night is burger night at Freddie’s Tavern – fill your belly with the famous Freddie Burger, voted Best Burger in town nine years in a row!

Jan. 15 – Ice skating is one of our favorite winter activities! Plan a trip to the I.C.E. Arena with friends and family!

Jan. 16 – Tour the Ziibiwing Cultural Center to explore the sacred and ceremonial collections of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. 

Jan. 17 – It’s Friday night – you know what that means… LIVE music at Rubble’s Bar! Get ready to rock with EXiT 95 in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.

Jan. 18 – Start your day with breakfast from MLive’s Michigan’s Best diner Roz’s Diner in Rosebush; we recommend the Eggs Bennie and Roz’s famous hot cocoa. After, head to McGuirk Arena to yell, “Fire Up Chips!” for the CMU Men’s Basketball team as it takes on Buffalo!

Jan. 19 – Explore Deerfield Nature Park, voted the most beautiful place in Isabella County by Pure Michigan; explore the trails along the Chippewa River, and you may find yourself at a beautiful, snow-covered, covered bridge.

Jan. 20 – It’s National Cheese Lovers Day! Celebrate with something cheesy and Michigan-made from local favorite Mitchell’s Gourmet Deli & Market; locations in both Mt. Pleasant and Shepherd, Michigan.

Jan. 21 – March to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Peace March and Vigil.

Jan. 22 – No matter the meal or time of day, pizza is always on the menu; visit Pisanello’s Pizza in Downtown Mt. Pleasant for some of the best pizza in town and THE best lunch buffet.

Feb. 1 – What a fun-filled day in Mt. Pleasant! The annual Man vs. Mountain winter obstacle 5k will take place at Mountain Town Station and CMU Women’s Basketball will take on Ohio at McGuirk Arena. Tickets and/or registration required for events. 

Feb. 2 – It’s Groundhog Day! Take a stroll through the GKB Riverwalk Trail in Downtown Mt. Pleasant – you may spot a creature or two!
